Grab your binoculars and join us for a birding paddle on Bellingham Bay, hosted in partnership with Wild Whatcom! This guided outing is designed for nature lovers of all ages who want to experience the coastal birdlife of the Salish Sea from the peaceful perspective of a kayak.
During the summer months, Bellingham Bay becomes a haven for coastal and migratory birds. Keep an eye (and ear) out for great blue herons, belted kingfishers, pigeon guillemots, cormorants, and osprey—plus the occasional bald eagle soaring overhead. With binoculars in hand and naturalists by your side, we’ll explore quiet coves and shoreline habitats rich with avian life.
We provide all paddling gear, binoculars, and a full safety briefing—no experience necessary. Whether you're a seasoned birder or just bird-curious, this is a unique chance to connect with the bay and its winged residents.
Let’s paddle out and see who’s flying, fishing, and nesting on the water!
