Bioluminescence Paddle

Duration: 3 hours

Experience the Wonder of Bioluminescence at Night!

Bioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism. But experiencing it is so much more, it’s pure imagination! The glowing plankton is found throughout marine habitats, and lucky for us, can be found locally in Bellingham Bay from June-September. Our Bioluminescence Paddles often sell out, so reserve your space soon!

Sample Itinerary:

  • Check In/Welcome -10 min.

  • Equipment Intro and Paddle Stroke Practice – 15 min.

  • Safety Talk/Route intro – 10 min.

  • Launch/Paddle Out ~45 min

  • Bioluminescence play time! ~30-45 min  

  • Paddle In/Land ~45 min

All skill levels welcome! We use tandem sea kayaks for optimal stability so if you come with friends, choose your partner wisely! (Friends not required.)

Please bring shoes you feel comfortable getting wet, layer options for possible weather conditions (avoid cotton). Water, a snack, a towel, and a change of dry clothes are recommended. All other necessary gear will be provided.

Ages 10+ : When bringing kids on this tour please make sure you have at least a 1:1 adult to child ratio for kids that are unable to paddle on their own or if they are unable to responsibly share a boat with an adult partner. For kids under the age of 10, consider setting up a private Bioluminescence paddle to accommodate your family.

All Abilities Welcome; This tour is designed for both novice and experienced sea kayakers! Private Lessons and Private Groups are available to design your own experience!

Bellingham Bay Kayak Tour

Duration: 3 hours

We’re here to have fun!  –  Join us for a guided afternoon of sea kayaking!

Once we’re on the water we’re free to enjoy the glide! Keep an eye out for critters, the starfish are colorful and the seals are curious! With beautiful Bellingham to the north and luscious Larabee state park to the south, there is plenty to explore. All while silently slipping over riveting rock formations!

Sample Itinerary:

  • Check In/Welcome -10 min.

  • Equipment Intro and Paddle Stroke Practice – 15 min.

  • Safety Talk – 5 min.

  • Launch/Paddle Out ~1 hour

  • Beach break/Island break/or floating break ~15-30 min 

  • Paddle In/Land ~1 hour

Evening Sail on Bellingham Bay

Duration: 2 hours

Want to try sailing? Come join CBC for an evening experience sailing on beautiful Bellingham Bay! Our instructor will give you a tour of the local sights and natural history of the area as you enjoy sailing along the Fairhaven and Bellingham waterfronts. No sailing experience required, just a sense of fun and adventure!

Ages 10+; All Abilities Welcome, please call ahead if you have any mobility issues that may hinder you from climbing a ladder. We are continuously expanding our accessibility options and would like to get everyone on the water in the best possible capacity; Private Lessons and Private Groups are available to design your own experience!
